Martin was approached by members of the Mwatate Parish Catholic church to come up with a concept for the new St. Judy church to be located within the precincts of Mwatate town. The need for this new place of worship was as a result of the location of the current church, in the outskirts of the town right on the foot of Chawia hills. This was off the centre of the town and quite far from those who had to pass by the town as they head to church. The new site offered a cental point at which worshippers would converge.
Martin came up with concepts that were positively received by all church members and approved. In addition, the same concepts are currently being used to fundraise in aid of the construction of the church.
The church has a capacity of 300 people.
Martin offered to carry out this deign without pay, this being his contribution towards the church project in which all members of the parish have contributed to.

Hi Martin,
positive contribution to the society. lets have people of your thinking. a challenge to the rest and upcoming generation.
kudos brother.
I like the attitude, working with the other members of the community and giving a desired contribution to the parish.I also like the simplicity of the building-i.e easy to construct.
My critique is,there are so many crosses propping up on the roof, all or most unwarranted.
Secondly, what is the outstanding feature that makes the space spiritual? any innovative use of light? (You have seen Tadao Ando’s church in Japan?), any special effects on space experiences?
What sets the design apart from what would be built by Fundis in the vicinity?
Think about these things.
